As I said earlier, I am an Acupuncturist. My husband and I own our own holistic health care practice.
Our business had been doing well up until a family tragedy struck in 2005.
I suddenly had to fly back and forth between the east and west coast 6 times in 7 months. This resulted
in me being unable to see patients (and earn money) for up to three weeks at a time.
My family emergency caused a significant plunge in our income.
As a result of all of my travelling, we also had a corresponding increase in expenses. Coincidentally,
that same year we planned to move our home AND our business, so we incurred many new big start-up expenses.
Peter (my husband) and I remained strong and reminded each other of how fortunate we really were.
Through very difficult financial hardships in our past we always found a way to scrape by and enjoy Life.
Perhaps it is the years of meditation or our trust in prayer, but we have managed more often than not to
have a smile on our faces during the tough “macaroni & cheese months”.
We genuinely feel supported and Blessed and always find more to be grateful for, than complain about.
But on April 15th, 2006 our resolve was severely tested. Our accountant informed us that we owed over $17,000 in taxes. Seventeen thousand dollars!
After all the dust settled (we sold our car and got on a tax payment plan to repay the balance), I vowed never to be in that position again. Never!
And that was the fire that fed my desire to find a better way to secure our financial future and earn an income that was not dependent on our services.

It was not easy for me to find a way to build a residual income while I continued to work full time.

I had to learn business and marketing principles the hard way, through naive trial and costly error.
So I really thought that any kind of business that involved selling was out of the question.
Although I used several different nutritional MLM products in my holistic health care practice, I had never tried
to pursue the business aspect of network marketing.
