Our journey to joining Ann Sieg's team and achieving success with network marketing was not exactly planned out.We are both originally from the east coast; Peter from Buffalo, New York, and me from Hockessin, Delaware. We were both Biology majors in college and met in Richmond, Indiana where we attended a small Quaker school named Earlham College. After graduation, we spent 7 years in separate cities (Peter in Buffalo and me in Boston, Massachusetts) pursuing our graduate degrees. We married in 1991 and settled in Michigan for a few years. Finally in 1994 we made our way west and have been planted in Vancouver, Washington ever since.
Our transition from conventional minded medicine to alternative medicine was challenging and bumpy because we were both entrenched in the western medical model. As scientists, we could not ignore the research on acupuncture as well as our own personal experiences with energetic medicine. MLM Nutritional ProductsWhen the FDA passed the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act ("DSHEA Act") in 1994, it gave nutritional and herbal companies the right to market their products as if they were "food" instead of following the same lengthy and costly protocols for approval required of prescription drugs.Multi-Level Marketing companies were quick to take advantage of the DSHEA Act and used it as a way to get their products "out there". Some of our own patients were the first to inform us of certain MLM nutritional or herbal products. We started researching these products with the same kind of reluctance & scrutiny that we had when we approached acupuncture. We were concerned about overblown claims that could not be "backed up" with clinical data. Although we were skeptical, we remained open-minded. Our goal was always to "find what works", regardless of what it was called or how it was marketed. We eventually found some wonderful MLM nutritional products but never put much effort into the "business" aspect of Network Marketing. We were happy to use the products ourselves and sell products at retail prices or show people how to get them at wholesale if they were interested. At the same time we were attracted to the profit potential of Network Marketing and thought there might be something we could do to build an income source through our MLM companies. The idea of having income that did not depend on our time and services was very appealing. But we never were able to do anything about it because the over-the-top marketing techniques used to sell the MLM business model did not fit our personalities. When Peter and I stumbled upon Ann Sieg and her incredible Renegade System, we felt for the first time that maybe, just maybe, we could start generating a significant income through our MLM companies and still preserve our integrity. Ann Sieg's TeamI was so excited about what Ann Sieg had to say I decided to jump in with both feet!
